This course will combine Home Study (commencing November 1st), followed by a 1 day Classroom Session (on November 30th) incorporating: theory review, hands on radio sessions, and the ROC certification exam.
The Classroom Session and exam will be held on November 30th at Nanoose Place, 2925 Northwest Bay Rd, Nanoose Bay
8:30 AM (sharp) till +/- 4:00 PM and you will have the opportunity to practice making and answering the various types of calls as well as explore the important features of Digital Selective Calling (DSC)
In this course you will learn all about the uses of marine radios, choice of frequencies, operation, phonetic alphabet, procedural words and phrases, as well as Digital Selective Calling and the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System, (DSC/GMDSS).
Be sure that you and your family take the Maritime Radio course so all on board can use the radio in the event of an emergency. To operate a maritime radio, you need the certificate. It's the law!
This complete package will prepare you for the Restricted Operator Certificate (Maritime) exam which is included as part of this course.
Upon passing the exam you will be issued with a temporary ROC(M) certificate which is valid until the ROC(M) card arrives.
